Painting with Glitter!

I woke up today and had a desire to paint some pumpkins! I wanted to do something a little fancy! Im addicted to glitter and so I thought that would be perfect! I got one small white pumpkin and a small orange one. The products I used you can see here...

I don't know what I would do without Martha!! I just took the glitter glue and freehanded my designs on my pumpkins. They are not perfect, but I guess thats what you get when they are homemade.

After I painted my design I just sprinkled glitter all over the glue until it was covered really well. Shake all the excess glitter off your pumpkin. Enjoy!!! Here are the ones I did.

Halloween Is so much better with glitter!!

Fall Is In The Air!!!

Happy fall!! This might have been one of the most beautiful days ever. The sun was shining and the air was cool. It  was a great day to try a new recipe. I've been wanting to bake some desserts in a jar. I thought I would represent the time of year and try some apple pies!! They actually turned out really good.

My Recipe:
4 Fugi apples peeled and cored
1 package Pilsbury pie crust ( I cheated with the crust)!!
4 half pint mason jars
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1tbsp. cinnamon

Preheat your oven to 375. Peel and core your apples. I chopped mine into pretty small pieces, set aside. You can add some lemon juice to them so they don't brown too quick. I did not use it though.Take your jar lid and cut a circle out of the crust and line the bottom of the jar. I tore pieces of crust and coated the sides of the jar also. Mix the white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and flour. Pour over chopped apples and make sure you coat them well. Stuff as much of the mixture as you can in the jar. Then cut another circle with the jar lid and lay on top of the jar. I tried doing a decorative edge. I put mine on a cookie sheet and in the oven for about 45 minutes. Just keep an eye on them so the crust doesn't get too brown. Enjoy!!!!

I hope this makes it in your tummy. They were delish!!

Just A Reminder

This week has been "one of those weeks". I needed a little reminder to be patient(this is not one of my strong points)! I met a great woman today who made me think about things and the way they all fall into place. While I do believe this to be true, it's not always easy to remember. Good things happen tho those who wait. I needed a little inspiration and I found this. I hope you have a happy Friday!!

" A Few New Things"

Well it's Labor Day and probably one of the most relaxing days I've had in a long time! The weather is perfect. It makes me so excited for the months to come.  I was able to do a little shopping this weekend and founds some great things, so I wanted to share them with you!

My new favorite nail polish is Deborah Lippman " Glitter In The Air"

Joes Jeans "The Visionnaire" These are higher waisted therefore very flattering if you have a little tummy! These might be the softest jeans I've ever owned, they feel like you are wearing leggings.

My new go to Fall pump! Love the Rust color and the size of the heel. DV by Dolce Vita
As you can see I had a successful shopping trip. I feel like I have all the essential pieces for my fall wardrobe.

As if my weekend could get any better! I had a few of my friends over for a wine tasting. I had everyone bring their favorite bottle of red and white, along with a special appetizer. These are some of the pictures I have to share with you......

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend too. Until next time.......

Top Ten Loves at this Moment

I had no idea how to start this blog…so after much deliberation I decided to do a top ten list of my favorite things at this moment.  Lame?  Maybe, but anyway here is my  “Top Ten” list of things I  love right now.  Enjoy!

10. Fall
I think fall is the best time of the year. The crisp cool air, football and just all the fun fall activities that you get to do. I can't wait for pumpkins, sweaters, and of course my new boots! Yahoo for fall!!

9. Rose Wine
I just recently got home from the  most amazing place on earth, Napa Valley.  I discovered Rose while I was there. Its a great light and refreshing wine for summer time!

8. Leopard Print

The "Leopard" trend is back and in full force. I recently bought the most amazing pair of leapord heels. They can make any outfit look amazing.

7. Glitter Nail Polish

I'm a sucker for anything glitter and nailpolish is no exception.

6. Enjoy Shampoo and Conditioner

Absolutely the BEST shampoo and conditioner I've ever used. I will admit it is a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny.

5. Meitte Bakery in San Fransico, CA

Another little gem I found while visitng Cali. One of the best pastry shops I've found in a long time. I got home and ordered the cookbook so I could have some of the delicious treats anytime I wanted...http://www.miette.com/

4. Bridesmaids - The Movie

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! Best movie of the summer by far! I am so excited to own this one. If you havent seen it do yourself a favor and go asap.

3. Shabby Chic Furniture

Well I have a love affair with Shabby Chic furniture. I have recently started antiquing and it's so fun to find a great piece and to wonder about the family it belonged to before me.  I think I 'm already about out of room so I'll be focusing on the smaller items next time!

2. Captain and Tulip

These are my two adorable furry friends Captain on the left and Tulip on the right, both miniature doxies. They absolutely make my day.

1. Diet Coke

And here you have it.... The Diet Coke. Anyone that know me knows I have a slight addiction to drinking this fine beverage. I must have one to get me started in the morning and it's what keeps me going through the day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

These are just a few things to share with you to get a sense of who I am and what I like. I am a little apprehensive to do this blog but at the same time super excited. I just want to share some of the things I love and hopefully you all will enjoy them too.

Thanks for reading........
